3D Nipple & Areola Repigmentation

Areola repigmentation (sometimes called 3D nipple tattooing or nipple tattooing) is a specialized form of paramedical tattooing that recreates the appearance of the nipple and areola following surgery, reconstruction, or pigment loss. This most often follows breast reconstruction after cancer treatment or preventative surgery, and can also occur after breast lifts or reductions and gender-affirming surgery.

Each treatment is highly individualized, honoring your anatomy, healing history, skin tone, and personal goals. The intention is to create dimensional realism that feels integrated, natural, and aligned with your body.

Potential Benefits

• Visual continuity following surgical reconstruction.

• Softening asymmetry or pigment loss.

• Reclaiming a sense of comfort and confidence in your body.

• Marking a meaningful moment in a healing journey.

• Personal agency and choice around embodiment and appearance.

This work is offered within a trauma-informed, consent-based framework that prioritizes pacing, transparency, and emotional safety.

The Process

Consultation: We begin with a complimentary Zoom consultation where you’ll share relevant medical history, healing timeline, and goals. You’ll have space to ask questions, explore options, and determine whether this work feels right for you.

Assessment & Design: I carefully assess skin thickness, scar age and patterning, tissue condition, and existing pigmentation. Together, we collaborate on size, placement, color direction, and overall aesthetic.

Pigment Blending & Application: Custom pigments are mixed to harmonize with your skin tone or an existing nipple. Through layered shading and fine detail, the goal is to create dimensional depth and aesthetic continuity.

Aftercare & Follow-Up: You’ll receive clear aftercare guidance and we’ll plan touch-ups if needed, allowing results to mature naturally over time. The ultimate aim is to support a sense of confidence, ease, and personal alignment in your body – honoring both your healing journey and your autonomy.

Inclusive & Gender-Affirming Care

This practice welcomes clients of all genders and identities, including those seeking gender-affirming care. While my portfolio primarily reflects post-mastectomy reconstruction, the same technical principles, pigment strategies, and trauma-informed approach apply to gender-affirming areola and nipple tattooing. Each consultation is individualized to ensure safety, alignment, and realistic expectations.

About the Studio & Care Philosophy

Treatments are offered in a private Manhattan studio serving clients throughout New York City and the surrounding area. I focus on supporting calm, dignity, and privacy. My background as a licensed clinical social worker and fine artist informs both the technical precision of the work and the relational care that guides each session. You are welcome to move at your own pace. Questions, boundaries, and consent are always respected.

Fees & Scheduling

Areola Repigmentation is a highly individualized restorative service. Treatment planning takes into account factors such as scar tissue, existing pigmentation, symmetry goals, skin tone, and healing history.

Most treatments include an initial session and a follow-up perfecting session approximately 6–8 weeks after healing.

Because every body and healing process is different, additional sessions may occasionally be recommended and are priced separately.

A complimentary consultation is offered prior to scheduling so we can discuss your goals, timeline, and whether this work feels appropriate for your body and skin.

Sliding-scale options are available for areola restoration services in an effort to support greater accessibility to care.

A $100 deposit is required to reserve your appointment. Deposits are transferable to a new date with at least 48 hours’ notice prior to cancellation.
